AFFILIATE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

 
The Affiliate Certification Program is a 2-day,16-hour course, where participants learn how to establish and run an exercise program for people living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Participants will learn technical boxing techniques adapted to the specific needs and targeted to improve specific symptoms, including appropriate aerobic conditioning and circuit training and taught in a safe and supportive environment. Participants will learn relative background on Parkinson's Disease and the importance and benefits of exercise for people with neurological disorders and movement challenges.

Participants will learn through actual class participation in five different types of classes, how to design a class for people at different mobility levels, how exercise, particularly boxing, can help people with movement challenges move and feel better, and learn about required equipment and facility layout recommendations. The training is intended for boxing coaches, personal trainers, group fitness instructors and physical and occupational therapists.
