Let's Get Started! with Coach Troy

Let's Get Started!

Introduction & Purpose

Coach Troy leads a workout designed to help caregivers stay strong, energized, and supported through movement. This hybrid session blends boxing with functional exercises that promote both physical and mental well-being.

Warm-Up & Mobility

The workout begins with a head-to-toe warm-up, including neck rolls, shoulder circles, arm swings, and leg stretches. Coach Troy emphasizes breathing and preparation, setting the tone for an intentional and focused session.

Boxing Combinations

Participants work through a series of boxing combos such as 1-2-3-2, 6-3-2, and 5-6-3-2. Each set lasts about a minute, reinforcing rhythm, coordination, and controlled breathing. Coach Troy encourages verbal counting and sharp execution.

Cardio & Balance

After boxing, the session moves into light cardio including jogging in place, high marches, and ice skaters. These drills promote balance and elevate the heart rate, with modifications for all fitness levels.

Strength Training

Functional strength is addressed through squat-to-heel-raise sequences, focusing on leg and calf activation. A chair can be used for added support, making it accessible for all participants.

Cool Down & Closing

The workout ends with a stretch sequence, deep breathing, and a moment of reflection. Coach Troy encourages self-appreciation and reminds caregivers of the importance of making time for their own health.

Key takeaways

  • A full-body workout designed for caregivers to stay strong in just 20–30 minutes.
  • Boxing builds coordination and endurance while promoting breath control.
