Dr. Barry McCasland

About
Dr. McCasland has been a community-based neurologist in Atlanta for over 20 years, focusing on neurology since 1998. He encourages patients with Parkinson’s Disease to include organized exercise as a key part of their treatment, regardless of their ability level. He often refers patients to LDBF Boxing for Parkinson’s, receiving consistent positive feedback and observing improvements in their symptoms. Dr. McCasland highlights the benefits of LDBF Boxing, saying it offers not only an excellent workout but also a supportive community that motivates his patients. He has seen improvements in balance, mobility, dexterity, and confidence among participants, reinforcing his belief in the program. Dr. McCasland completed an Internal Medicine internship at Washington Hospital Center in D.C. and a three-year Neurology residency at Emory University, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. His areas of interest include nerve and muscle diseases, neurological conditions affecting the eyes, concussions, and the care of professional athletes.
